Microsoft Scripting Runtime is disabled

The Microsoft Scripting Runtime library is used by many applications to support high level access to the file system. However, this library also contains functionality to support scripting in end user applications. Therefore some anti virus software consider this library a possible threat, and hence disables it.

When this happens, CDGFix 3 Super will display the message "There is a problem with the file SCRRUN.DLL that is a part of Windows required to run CDGFix - the file is not properly installed".

To remedy this situation you have to register the file in order to enable it to be used. To do this first open Windows Explorer and navigate to the Windows installation folder (normally c:\windows). Go into the sub-folder System32, and locate the file scrrun.dll. Double-click the file to register it. If you see a message like "DLLRegisterServer in C:\Windows\System32\scrrun.dll succeeded" then everything should now be working again.

If you, on the other hand, see a dialog asking what program to use for opening the file, you will have to do a bit more work. Depending on the Windows version you are using the dialogs displayed vary slightly. However, the key is to select that you manually want to specify the program to use. Then browse to the Windows System32 folder and select the file regsvr32.dll. When you confirm this choice you should then see the message "DLLRegisterServer in C:\Windows\System32\scrrun.dll succeeded" as described above.

If this problem persists or occur from time to time you may want to consult your anti virus software documentation or on-line knowledge base to find out how to permanently enable the scrrun.dll file.
