My new SuperCDG DVD is not recognized by CAVS

You have built a new SuperCDG library using the features available in CDGFix 3 Super. The newly created SuperCDG library DAT-files have then been burned onto a DVD disc, and inserted into a CAVS player. And then nothing happens - the player does not recognize the new SuperCDG disc. The same situation may occur if you try to use the new SuperCDG disc with one of the CAVS software players, like for instance PlayCDG SP.

For a SuperCDG disc to be recognized by CAVS players it must have a specific layout; it is not enough to simply burn the SuperCDG library DAT-files onto a new DVD. CAVS players look at the disc root for a folder named CAVS_MCG. Inside this folder the DAT-files must be placed.

Also note that the DAT-files must be named CVMD0001.DAT, CVMD0002.DAT, and so on. To accomplish this just enter the CVMD as the name of your new SuperCDG library when creating it with CDGFix 3 Super. After you have selected the number of DAT-files you want, CDGFix 3 Super will append the specified base name with sequential numbers on the correct format.

When you buy commercial SuperCDG discs you may have noticed that they autoplay when inserted into a computer running Microsoft Windows, starting a simple player that allows you to select and play the different tracks on the disc without installing any software first. If you want to make your own SuperCDG discs behave like this you will find information on how to do this at Create a self-loading SuperCDG DVD.
