Using the player

The built-in player in CDGFix 3 Super can be used simply to play tracks from start to end, or as an advanced tool to help locate and correct errors like bad spots in the graphics. This tutorial will explain the basic player controls used to play, pause and position the currently loaded track, as well as controlling the volume.

While all player control commands are available on the Play menu, they are more easily available on the Main toolbar:

To start playing the loaded track click on the Play_start.gif button (or press F5). The track will play until it reaches the end, or you either use the Play_pause.gif button (or the F4 key) to pause or the Play_stop.gif button (or the F6 key) to stop and rewind.

After being paused, the track can be restarted from the current position using the Play_start.gif button again, or rewound to the beginning using the Play_rewind.gif button.

While the track are playing the current position is displayed on the left-hand side of the Main statusbar on the format MM:SS (minutes and seconds). The position is also indicated by the moving slider on the right-hand side of the toolbar. The position slider can be dragged using the mouse at any time, independent of whether the track is playing or paused, to move the current playing position. Simply drag the slider to the desired position and release it, and the track will be repositioned accordingly.

If you want to browse fast through the track you can use the Play_fast_forward.gif button to start fast forward playing. This will play the track at approximately five times normal speed, without sound.

The volume can be adjusted using the right-most slider on the toolbar. This slider controls the master volume on the computers sound card, and equals using the left-most slider on the system mixer panel.
