Version 3.7b released

CDGFix 3.7b released!

  • Changed algorithm for how tracks are distributed among the data files in a SuperCDG library. Previously each new track was assigned to the next data file in a round-robin fashion. For a library consisting of four data files this means that data file #1 would hold the tracks 1,5,9,13…, data file #2 would hold the tracks 2,6,10,14…, and so on. According to this scheme each data file would hold the same number of tracks. The new distribution algorithm instead selects the smallest data file for the next track. While the old method could produce data files with quite a large difference i sizes, the new method creates data files that will be almost equal in size. This makes it easier to maximize the number of tracks in a SuperCDG library while still keeping all the data files within 2GB or 4GB.
  • CDGFix 3 Super now issues a warning when a SuperCDG library data file is about to exceed 4GB. This is because FAT32 formatted file systems do not allow files larger than 4GB. If you intend to copy your SuperCDG library to for instance a USB memory stick then each data file must be within the 4GB limit.
  • When creating a new SuperCDG library CDGFix 3 Super now allocates a larger index table to allow for adding more tracks to the library at a later stage. With the new support for larger data files the previously allocated index table was too small to meet the number of tracks possible in a library.
  • Implemented a workaround to prevent Registry Booster from deleting CDGFix 3 Super ActiveX component registrations from the Registry
